Five Minutes With...Guy Pollard

Apr 29, 2024|

In ‘Five Minutes With…’ we share the stories of our Bisley colleagues and business partners, allowing you to get to know them a little better. In this feature, we talk to Guy Pollard, our new Workplace Technology Director, as he discusses his experiences in the industry and what his role at Bisley will involve.

Hi Guy and welcome to Bisley. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your new role?

I started my professional life in architecture and somehow fell into the world of storage and have spent the last 35 years eulogising about steel and MFC products. The last 12 years have centred on smarter technologies around pedestals and lockers working with Vecos, Mypup, Gantner and Keynius. My role as Workplace Technology Director for Bisley is about utilising that experience to enhance our product offering to a wider audience. The aim is for Bisley to be the go-to provider of innovative smart storage solutions, both home and away.

How will you work to develop the brand further?

Awareness is key and we plan to strengthen our marketing around print, digital media and good old-fashioned talking to people. A&D and our partners are key to being specified.

What are your professional aims and how will you help others?

I’ve always taken a consultative approach to what I do and having an informed opinion of the market adds credence to that. Being a team player is important to me and assisting in achieving our collective goals is why I get up in the morning.

What are you most excited about working at Bisley?

Bisley is an internationally recognised brand with a fantastic story to tell and adding to that is a huge motivation.

What does a typical day look like for you?

No two days are the same, but having people come to the showroom to see what we do is a highlight for me, and the rest of the time evolves building our brand to ensure we get more and more client visits.

How have you seen the workplace shift and why do you think personal security is so important to people now?

The march towards a tech enabled future has been slow with early adopters being offered a mix of underdeveloped solutions but that changed dramatically with Covid. This has accelerated the drive to a more flexible environment for employees and data informing employers of what the future of work looks like for their specific needs. Data is as always contentious and ours and partner's security credentials offer a degree of comfort that is not available from other suppliers.

Do you have a favourite Bisley product and why?

Lockerwall, but then I am biased!
